The Achilles UVDB is a community for the UK utilities industry. It enables the utilities sector to use Achilles’ proven supplier pre-qualification system to manage risk within the supply chain and comply with EU regulations, and suppliers to have a unique opportunity to connect with key industry players. Launched in 1996, Achilles UVDB is managed by a Steering Group consisting of utility buyers to drive industry best practice.

RISQS (Rail Industry Supplier Qualification Service)

The Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) is the supplier pre-qualification service used by buyers of all products and services throughout the GB rail industry. The scheme embraces rail's qualification arrangements. RISQS is industry-owned, sponsored by a board of representatives from across the rail industry. This reports into the RSSB Board, and RSSB provides a range of services to support operational delivery of the scheme.

As the rail sector’s largest dedicated B2B networking organisation, the Rail Alliance is all about bringing customers, suppliers and supply chain opportunities together. It is a membership organisation that sits at the very heart of the rail supply chain. Born out of the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS – established in the West Midlands in 1996), the Rail Alliance has evolved as a leading representative of the UK rail supply chain community.

IRSE (Institute of railway signal engineers)

The IRSE is the professional institution for all those engaged in or associated with railway signalling and telecommunications, train control, traffic management and allied professions.

The Railway Industry Association is the representative body for UK-based suppliers of equipment and services to the world-wide industry. It has around 200 member companies, active across the whole range of railway supply. That range is exceptionally diverse and includes many skills and resources which were previously part of the national railway undertaking but which now operate commercially in the private sector.
